Joel Macdonald

Joel Macdonald's journey from a professional athlete to a tech entrepreneur exemplifies a dynamic blend of sportsmanship and business acumen. Over the past decade, he has been instrumental in founding and developing several technology companies, securing over $100 million in capital and achieving revenues of over $30 million. His success in tech is highlighted by his involvement in two initial public offerings and a significant acquisition.

He began his tech journey by co-founding Liquorun.com, an early entrant in Australia's alcohol e-commerce market. This venture was followed by establishing Distributed Logistics, focusing on on-demand logistics services, and a successful delivery-focused Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company. As CEO, he led this SaaS company to go public in 2016, driving over $75 million in funding and attaining an annual revenue growth of $20 million in less than four years. He further solidified his leadership by taking on the roles of President and Managing Director in 2018.

His entrepreneurial spirit also led him to co-found Zwype, a hospitality platform, which later merged into a notable Australian/US technology group. Recognized for his achievements in technology and sports, he is also committed to philanthropy, supporting various charities, including the Royal Children's Hospital, Heart Foundation, The Reach Foundation, and Meals on Wheels.

Intrigued by emerging technologies, he recently delved into digital assets, focusing on infrastructure and consumer applications in this sector. He advises entrepreneurs in the digital acquisition and broader tech sectors and actively invests in early-stage ventures through his family office.
